Subsea Intervention Hazard Checklist, IOGP
This IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) Report provides a list of potential hazards that could be present subsea during inspection, intervention, or construction activities.
This checklist can be reviewed when designing equipment and/or planning subsea intervention related activities.
This Report is aimed at Subsea teams preparing projects that can use this checklist to aid risk assessments or discussions, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
The Report Introduction lays out the groundwork of the Subsea Intervention Hazard Checklist.
This Report provides a checklist of factors (and hazards) that are specific to the design and operation of subsea equipment.
This checklist can be reviewed when designing equipment and/or planning intervention-related activities (be they onshore/offshore). Subsea intervention refers to activities related to the inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment and infrastructure. The checklist only identifies hazards unique to equipment, such as the particular hazards associated with pressure testing using gas rather than liquid. For equipment that will be installed/retrieved or operated by divers, during both the design and subsea intervention planning phases, reference should be made to IMCA D044 (Isolation & Intervention Guidelines for Diver Access to Subsea Systems) and IMCA D045 (Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Electricity Underwater).
